Listed by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest restaurant

Botín restaurant in Madrid was founded by James Botin and his wife in 1725. It is one of the oldest eateries at the original premises in the world. The restaurant was originally called as Casa Botín but later it was inherited by a nephew of theirs called Candido Remis who change the name to Sobrino de Botín.
As a curiosity it is also important to note that the artist Francisco de Goya used to work here as a dishwasher while waiting to get accepted into the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.







Eels, the American band led by Mark Oliver Everett will be performing in Spain next April with two concerts: on Saturday 27 in the Hall of Barcelona Parallel Artery (as part of the Barcelona Guitar Festival) and the Sunday 28 at La Riviera in Madrid.
